What is Occupational Psychology?
Psychology is defined by the British Psychological Society as "the scientific study of
people, the mind and behaviour". There are a different kinds of psychologists, such as clinical,
occupational and health psychologists.
Occupational Psychologists help organisations to get the best from their workforce, by improving
employee health, productivity and job satisfaction.
By applying psychological expertise, COPE’s Occupational Psychologists work to increase the
health and effectiveness of organisations and employees. This can involve issues such as:
- motivating staff
- preventing or managing stress
